The Comenius 2.1 project G@ME is a European cooperation project, 40% of the funds are provided by the European Commission

Project duration is from October 2006 to September 2009

Project objective

In Teacher Education new media (ICT) are used with competence and combined with gender aspects

Specific project objectives

  • Teacher students, teacher trainers and teachers are able to self-observe and diagnose and know procedures and tools to observe differences.
  • Teacher students, teacher trainers and teachers notice genderspecific stereotypes more consciously.
  • Teacher students, teacher trainers and teachers learn to use their pupils different forms of pedagogical thinking and their expression concerning new media in a constructive way.
  • Teachers are competent and interested in using new media as an everyday instrument of school life.
  • Gender aspects are recognized in Media Education and ICT curricula and discussed among teacher students, teacher trainers and teachers.

  • Teachers for pupils aged ~10 to 16 ( upper primary and lower secondary)

Main activities

  • Analyse the respective PISA results, studies and relevant curricular aspects
  • Undertake research concerning teacher students and pupils pedagogical thinking in the context of the use of ICT taking into account gender aspects
  • Develop diagnostic tools to improve reflection of genderspecific perception and communication
  • Develop Comenius 2.2. course "Gendersensitive Media Didactics in Teacher Education"
